As I wrote in Benefits of partying, I started doing some consulting. Not that I was looking for a career change, but it has occasionally found me and I find it interesting.
After a few consultancy sessions I found that I am capable to help and at least share some of my personal experiences on a wide range of topics such as:
- IT business
- Roles in IT
- Development process
- Client-vendor relationships
- Product development
- Team management
- Staffing and hiring, interviewing
So after yet another dinner with a start-up firm CEO, we decided to work up and sign a part-time contract, so I’m going to help them as a consultant.
Most likely I will start from 5-10 hours per week maximum at this point. I don’t want to mess up with my current job. If it is going to be more than 5 hours per week, I’ll have to borrow some time from the my weekend.
Heh, wife is not going to be happy, but this is an interesting activity. After all, I’m answering questions from a position of expert and have a good listeners 🙂
After some time, I’m going to ask this CEO to write some recommendation on LinkedIn 🙂 Should I do some PR as well, shouldn’t I?
